Limburger Cheese - Creamy, 6.35 oz Germany
CHAMPIGNONLIMBURGER CHEESE - CREAMY, 6.35 OZ GERMANY
Almost universally known today as a stinky German cheese, Limburger was originally created by Belgian Trappist monks. The Germans, noted in the dairy world for their mimicry, latched on to the Belgian recipe and made it their own. Strangely enough, in the 1880's, a New Yorker named Emil Frey copied the recipe for Limburger and created Liederkranz - in effect, creating a copy of a copy! This pasteurized cow's milk cheese, ours is produced under the Halali brand, has a tangy, creamy, Brie-like flavor with an incredibly pungent aroma. This perfume, which is caused by bacteria living in the rind, indicates a strong tasting cheese. However, Limburger is actually fairly tame, especially when you trim the rind. It is best when served with plenty of cold beer. Other good accompaniments are tinned fish, onions, crackers, fruits, and vegetables.
Limburger Cheese – Creamy, 6.35 oz (Germany) offers the classic bold aroma and smooth, spreadable texture that define traditional German Limburger. Crafted from high‑quality milk and aged to develop its signature pungency, this creamy version delivers a rich, savory flavor with a soft interior that appeals to shoppers searching for Limburger cheese, German creamy cheese, strong aromatic cheese, and European specialty cheeses. Its distinctive character makes it ideal for rye‑bread sandwiches, onions‑and‑mustard pairings, charcuterie boards, and hearty comfort‑food dishes. This category highlights authentic German Limburger known for dependable quality, old‑world craftsmanship, and the deep, full flavor that fans of bold cheeses love.

The absolute best
Since my local german butcher closed, I was not able to get St. Mang Limburger anywhere, until I found your site. Thank goodness. Fair price and great delivery. Cheese arrived in great condition. Will buy from this company again. Gabriele Schmidt
